My name is Mubina Maqbool, founder of Melting Moments. Here’s a little bit about me and how Melting Moments came to life.

In the midst of my HR career, I stumbled upon a passion that would redefine my path — the art of cake decorating. Creating my son’s third birthday cake in 2009 awakened a love for baking that has only flourished since. Little did I know that this single creation would alter the course of my career, setting me on a delectable journey that would blend creativity, flavor, and joy in every step.

Driven by the sheer delight of bringing smiles to the faces of friends and family, I immersed myself in the world of baking, refining my skills, experimenting with bold new flavor combinations, and creating themed cakes that captured imaginations. As the demand for my creations grew, the idea of turning my passion into a profession became not just enticing, but inevitable. And so, Melting Moments was born — a home-based haven where sugary enchantment and edible dreams take shape.

Fueled by a deep desire to inspire, I began sharing my love for baking through hands-on workshops. Aspiring bakers joined me to learn the artistry of cake making, and it was in these sessions that my journey evolved further — leading me to develop my own original recipes and push the boundaries of conventional flavors, creating treats that delighted both the eyes and the palate.

I believe desserts hold a magical power — not only to satisfy a craving, but to bring people together, spark conversations, and create cherished memories. Melting Moments is more than a bakery; it is a space where perfection meets warmth, and where every treat carries a story.

My passion for creating, baking, and inspiring naturally extended into writing. Years of recipe testing, research, and creative exploration found their way into the pages of my two cookbooks: A Confectioner’s Secrets (2018) and Cakes, Desserts & Beyond (2022). Within these books, readers will find a curated collection of tried-and-true recipes, accompanied by detailed instructions and insightful tips to help every baking endeavor become a joyful success. These works have been featured in respected publications such as the Gulf Daily News, Gulf Weekly, Woman This Month, and Layali Magazine.

When I’m not whisk-deep in batter or crafting new recipes, I find serenity in reading, basking in the golden warmth of the sun, or savoring a perfectly baked brownie. It is in these quiet moments that inspiration often strikes, encouraging me to reimagine what’s possible in the world of baking.
